Ii economics is versatile

In general Ii Valley consists of industrial businesses, environmental technology enterprises, high-tech businesses and service industry. Utilization of tourism, as a new potential, is starting to flourish.

Micropolis Technology Centre is also situated in Ii Valley.

The solid growth foundation of Ii Valley is based on a considerable industrial tradition. In recent years Micropolis Technology Centre has strenghten and diversified industrial status further more. Currently there are approximately 60 companies operating in Ii Valley. Many of them are exporters.

The strength of Ii economics is versatile. Ii Municipality and local residents are not dependent on one mainstay only. The fact, that there is diverse businesses in Ii Municipality, results from a successful local industrial policy.

The merge of Ii and Kuivaniemi municipalities in 2007 had a positive effect on the population. The population has grown steadily over the years and currently it is around 9,000.
